Is anyone using the Waldorf Softsynth by steinberg? Im thinking about getting one too.

Waldorf PPG?? yes very nice synth for the price if you are after the 80s digital sounds.
I'm sure Waldorf still has a demo you can download.
It seems to me with all the new soft synths, i'ts harder to compare them becaue each one is unique. What kind of sounds do you want? I use the PPG as well as the Pro-5, B-4, Reality, and Reaktor. They are all very different and I don't hear much overlap in any of these synthesizers.
I'm sure Waldorf still has a demo you can download.

Im looking for deep bass sounds and low pads. I really dig arp and moog synths.

I just looked at the Waldorf web page and they seem to have taken the PPG Demo off. I can't find it. You might contact them or Steinberg to see if you can get a demo. Steinberg I think is still their north american distributor.
I will say that if you are looking for Arp, Moog, and lower pads that Reaktor/Dynamo is a better fit. Dynamo is like Reaktor except you cant build your own synthesizers. Reaktor is around 300.00 while Dynamo is under 150.00.
Really you should just download the NI Reaktor demo and the Pro-52 Demo and listen for yourself. Unless you are into sound design you really only need Dynamo and not Reaktor. The Waldorf PPG does not emulate any Arp or Moog sounds as close as Reaktor/ Dynamo or the Pro-52. Reaktor/Dynamo is WAY more flexable and powerful than Pro-52. It also is deeper, takes more time to learn, and more CPU heavy however I am told Reaktor 3 has changed that. If you want something easy quick and not hard to learn, go with Pro-52. The Waldorf PPG is an 80s synth and although it has some Arp and Moog sounds the Pro-52 has more.
