Another great wig-tune. Love the flute and guitar exchanges. Not digging the drums a whole lot, they sound thin.

Always enjoy listening to your tunes. Thanks for sharing.

Peace,

Another great tune - you truly can write and play some fantastic stuff. Mix is good but I thought the drums are a bit snappy towards the beginning. As I listened they seemed to smooth out, not sure why, maybe just more going on instrumentally....Anyway that's just a minor thing - I really like the tune.....

:D:cool::D

Chilli and ido 1957, Thanks very much for your appreciation of my work. Tony Sams was nice enough to lend me some acoustic guitar licks and the rest is me.

I know that my drums are lacking. I hear it all the time.:o

I wish I had EZ drummer or knew someone who had the time to program some tasty drums for my songs.

Someday, I'll get it all worked out.

Thanks again

I have ezdrummer and wouldn't mind giving it a try if you would like. Is there a place where I can download this song?

Cheers,

Sounds pretty good.

The flute and acoustic sound excellent together, and you've got a nice bass tone.

I think the drums need to be EQ'd a bit lower (especially at the beginning). I think more bass in the drum tone would help them sound a lot better.

Really nice piece you've got here, Wig.
You are a truly gifted songwriter!:) If you can fix those drums it's perfect for me. Love the flute work, how do you record it? And the acoustic solos are totally sweet. Well done;)

Cheers
Joe

The 1st lead line didn't quite sit in the mix for me.
Do I hear a bit of recorder?
Lovely song and excellent elements.
It's been said L, R & centre but you know a real drummer would be the icing on all your work (I also know the probs and pain. I use drum machine stuff until someone offers to play for me.)
Nice melodies and lyrics PLUS a voice that matches them.
Your tracks over the last couple of years would make a lovely album.

Recorder is completely out of place. Not fluid at all.

Has an interesting ASIAN vibe. But the performances are lacking.

I ike the drums better now, though they still sound a bit thin. But that takes nothing away from a pristine song.
Wig, if this is "lacking in performance", than some of us need to seriously take a break from home recording.....

Cheers
Joe

WOW !!!!! REALLY REALLY GOOD !!!! cant believe the quality!!!..i agree with joeym about the drums.. and back off on the compresseor...

Bump Bump. Totally agree with the drums comment. Chilli is giving it a shot for me and I will repost.

It has been suggested that perhaps just a tambourine with some verb would be enough to carry it.

Any thoughts would be helpful as this is still a WIP.

Thanks

I'm still working on it. Not as fast as I thought I would do it. Have a couple of other things going at the same time. Sorry it's taking so long. Hopefully this weekend.

Cheers,

I see what folks are saying about that drums. But that's not to take away from what you've done here--those guitars are exquisite--and the flute is perfect.

I've stopped listening to this analytically--now I'm just listening 'cause it's great music...

Nice. Very cool song, excellent vibe. Kinda sounds like Sting meets Van Morrison.:D

I can only echo the others with the drums. PERSONALLY, I would go with latin percussion stuff and ditch the drums altogether. I think I say that on every one of your tracks.:D:D All you have is a metronome right now. Do you have any synths with latin sounds?

Gotcha, David.

Chilli to the rescue! Here is a mix with Chilli (Irish Pirate) on a Latin kit.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think it sounds much better. The intro could still use a wet tambourine so it isn't so abrupt.

Here you go, All There Is Latin Mix by Xeries (Wig) and Chilli (Dave)
