I've heard from some people that its not a good idea to master your stuff 'all the way' because if a label/person likes it they may wish to have their own 'people' master it.

on the other hand making my stuff sound as nice as possible is a drive hard to ignore...

thoughts???

You should be keeping different versions archived so as long as you keep the original unmastered mixdown I don't see what the issue is.
