Anybody out there with an Alesis 24 and a DAW?
It is my understanding that output taken from the insert is "direct." I am hooking up an alesis studio 24 to a delta 1010 and was wondering if it would make a difference to connect the two via the mixer's direct outs (unbalanced RCA's on the back) or the inserts located next to the inputs. I guess the goal is to send a signal to the computer that is uneffected by the faders, eq, etc.
Also, would anyone have suggetions about where to send a stereo mix back to the mixer? It seems like the stereo lines on my mixer are controlled by the fader and monitor 1/2 which produces a confusing mix that I know is not what was recorded. I tried using the main inserts and got a slightly better result...just looking for a clean stereo mix of what was recorded.
thanks
kevin
