Alesis MultiMix 8 FireWire

Has anyone used the Alesis MultiMix 8 FireWire? I'm looking for an audio interface to start recording on my PC, there are so many products out there it's hard to choose, I'm a guitarist who will be recording my own material which will be a combination of audio (guitar, bass, vocals) and I guess midi (keys, drums)

Has anybody got any recommendations on what I should use or avoid? I don't want to make any mistakes buying the wrong stuff.

It seems to me that firewire is the way to go not USB but having input from people with experience is worth it's weight in gold.

i have that mixer, just beginning. but if it is the same as min it has a built in interface. you don't need a seperate oen

i haven't used it yet. i am still in the process of reading manulas and buying cable.

BTW i do not know if this interface is good for midi or just audio.
