Alesis Multimix 16 USB 2.0

Hi everyone, new poster here. I bought an Alesis Multimix 16 USB 2.0 this week and while
I am enjoying setting it up, it's frustrating at the same time. I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop w/XP and Cubase LE4 that came with the mixer (I have Pro Tools LE 8 on my mac but first time with Cubase). I am having trouble getting all 16 channels to cooperate simultaneously with Cubase. The software recognizes the board and I am able to record from channel 1 to Cubase but that's it. I was wondering how do you get Cubase LE4 to recognize all 16 channels? (18 w/Main Mix & Alt 3/4)

Did you assign the inputs under VST connections?
and choose the Alesis driver under Device Setup?

I did. Right now I have it set up as 8 Mono Inputs and 8 Mono outputs.
It says "Mic_Line_In_3" "Mic_Line_In_4", etc. - is that what it should be?
And I do have the Alesis USB Audio Device Driver under Device Setup. Under the
"Alesis USB Audio Device" in Device Setup it shows that "MIC_LINE_IN_1" (through 8) are "ACTIVE" (For "LINE_IN_11" through 16 it shows as "Inactive".
and only LINE_IN_9 and LINE _IN_10 are "ACTIVE". For "MAIN_MIX_IN_LEFT" it shows "Active" but "MAIN_MIX_IN_RIGHT" it shows "Inactive"

And your only getting input through channel one? Make sure you have the latest driver first and make sure your USB port is 2.0 not 1.0

I am pretty sure the inactive state changes when you assign the input to a bus under VST connections
- click add bus, select an inactive port

once you assign them all you will need to save it as a template or you have to do it for every project

You need to also select the input buss for EACH channel you create in the inspector window in Cubase. Input buss for a newly created channel is always Mono1 by default. There is a shortcut to automatically select them in chronological order but I cant remember it.
