Just wondering, I know this is a fire wire interface but my laptop doesn't have a fire wire port...is it possible just to use a USB? Or do I need to get a fire wire card? Thanks!
 
Firewire port is essential. They have firewire to usb, but the effort is worth less than the cause as it is very pricey and you run into some latency and transfer issues. Best bet is to buy a new card, or a new laptop. Most likely a new laptop since from what it seems, you have one of the older types that doesn't already include the firewire port.
