Alesis i02 express being annoying!

So when I first got it was sweet. I would use my onboard soundcard for normal computering then switch to another windows profile which had the io2 configured as soundcard to do some recording.

Got a new computer ,still running XP but now the io2 gets picked up but is not an available choice as a soundcard in control panel , have to disable it then enable for it to be an option (even then sometimes doesnt work) have uninstalled onboard soundcard and now whenever I restart it forgets the io2 is there.

How to fix?
 
please help somebody. This soundcard is a waste to me now :<
 
Have you tried updating all of the drivers on your computer (specifically in this case, your computer's soundcard)? That may help the problem. If that doesn't help, try doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of the soundcard's driver in Safe Mode.
