Be Here Now
The Alesis HD24xr is selling for under $2k right now. So I'm thinking it's worth the jump from my current 8-track ADAT in that it will give many more tracks in a reliable package. But I don't want to jump in before getting some outside opinions.

What other options/format's are available for adding more tracks for under $2000 that are reliable and sound good enough for demo & small-run CD releases?

I don't want to buy more ADAT's; they have tape head issues over time...

I have the HD24, and have been recording for about 3 months. I transfer the tracks to a PC and remix using N-Tracks, mastering with O-Zone 3, thru Event TR8's.

This is a live recording, one take, no overdubs (OK, I DID add the shaker)
