Alesis DM5 Question

hi,

I've got one of these and don't know much about them. Anyone know if the "Preview" button on the front is supposed to act kinda weird? I know it's velocity sensitive, but on mine, it does sort of what it wants. In other words the drum sound I'm previewing will go loud and soft of its own volition no matter how hard or soft I hit the pad.

Is there some setting I need to tweak?

Did you buy it new or used? It is supposed to be velocity sensitive.

EDIT - I just checked. Nothing in the manual about any adjustments for the preview button.
