How does it differ from the D5?
How many trigger inputs does it have?
Outputs?

Specs please.

Hi,

Maybe someone else can chime in... I'm not familiar with the D5...

12 Input Triggers and 2 Stereo Outputs (Main and Aux)

Click here for the D4 manual.

I'd let it go for $130 shipped UPS Ground.

Thanks,
-Keith-

Hmmmm, you've given me something to consider. Unfortunately funds are tight, and I have to consult with the wife. I'll let you know.

Thanx

Man you sound like me. ;)

Hey Honey I know I just bought a new mic but there's this really cool thing and the guy is practically giving it away. It's a good deal and it would be a shame to let it slip through at that price. You should see how much a new one costs.
Then you have to try to explain to her what it does. :D

I'll just have to explain that its either this or a real drum kit..........HEHE

OMG! I just got approved.................She even said, "well if you can make them [drum triggers] then go for it."

Let me get to the bank tomorrow and check on the finances.

PS. I DO have a PayPal account.

I've been considering a D? for some time and from memory, the first difference between the D4 and DM5 is that one is 16 bit and the other 18 bit, hence the initial reason for the higher price on s/hand DM5's. There may be other differences too but I can't recall.

What I would advise is to d/load the manuals for both units (from memory they are buried but available on the Alesis site) and read up on them, then give serious consideration as to what you will be using the electric kit for.............practice......D4 will be fine but you may tire of it's limitations..........//recording......as above although you will probably tire of it much sooner. The DM5 would be better. Obviously, the DM-Pro is at the top of the pile but you pay considerably more for it.

Disclaimer:............The above comments are based not on personal experience, but on information supplied by owner/users of these units over the last 8 months or so.

Personally, I'm still undecided which model to purchase although I know I won't use it for serious recording............. however Sonixx, if this unit doesn't sell in the next day or two, and if you are prepared to post o/seas, obviously at my cost, stick a message up here or PM me and we'll try and work something out.

I can get it out today... If I have the funds by 2pm today, UPS says you'll have it by Thursday.

Thanks,

Sure thing. . .

Sonixx, I have to decline, finances dictate more responsible purchases at this time.

Thankyou anyway.

Ausrock. Its all yours!

I didn't want to step on Thane but now that he has withdrawn I am considering buying your module.
Does it come with any triggers?

Sonixx,

Thinking that thane was buying your D4, I started negotiations elsewhere..............it may not come to anything but in the meantime, if EdWon wants to buy your unit please don't hold out for me..........I may end up not having either unit but shite happens.

Regards

Hey Ausrock,
I'm sorry I just re-read your previous posts and it seems I might have stepped on your toes. :o By all means you were in first so have a go at it.
If you decide you don't want it though let me know.

Ed

Ed,

No worries............you go for it.

I'm going to have to wait till I hear back from the other guy before I could commit to Sonixx, so in fairness to you guys I'm happy to step back out of the way as it could be another 12 hours before I know anything definite........(the joys of being on the other side of the planet :D )..........kinda makes communications drag out waiting for time zones to come around.

Hi Ed,

No triggers... it's just the D4, wallwart and manuals...

Cheers,
-Keith-
