I've been watching these guys try to sell this mic on eBay for a while now (almost a year, maybe more). It's pretty funny! I even sent them a PM asking what was so special about it when they were trying to sell it for music videos and they were saying "custom engineered" and they were asking like $200 for it. They responded that they auditioned a bunch of mics and found this one had "the flattest response" out of all the mics of this type they had. Its a standard CAD GLX2400.

They didn't alter the mic in any way, except for slapping on some gold paint and gluing some rhinestones to it. I guess they finally figured out that no one is going to get excited about buying it.

Maybe I'll bid up to $5 for it.:D

reminds me of the "log" commercials from ren & stimpy -- this would be like "log of arabia" (alongside classics like "agent double-O log")
 
that's the gayest mic I've ever seen, in fact in terms of descriptive words for mics, i would have been unsure what would have been meant by a "gay mic", this however clarifies exactly what a gay mic is. It really is a gay mic. I would be hesitant to bid for it as I think it could impact on songwriting, 3min singing into that mic and you'll be coming up with erasure type material day in day out. What a gay mic. In fact I may bid for it to prove my masculinity, as anyone who sang into that mic would have to be completely confident in their sexual identity. "look, it's a gay mic - I know that, I'm a fully formed hetrosexual male & am ok with singing into a gay microphone, I'm mearly jacking off my feminin side" :eek:
 
I think even Hillary Duff would be too manly for that mic.:D

I guess they modified it with lead or something.:confused:

Hey, don't be mean to Hilary.... I kind of enjoy hearing her. She's the only female pop vocalist on the charts who never sings a note that I can't sing.... :D

I kid, I kid. Most female pop vocalists don't regularly sing notes that I can't sing. AFAIK, we haven't had a soprano on the charts since Mariah Carey went Hip Hop.... Either that or we haven't had a decent songwriter. Or both.

I bet your three year old daughter would make a better job of decorating the mic!! My favourite thing about the pictures is the little chains they have hanging on the mic. It's the same stuff I pull on when I want to close my blinds!!

Actually, I just saw the post, and the darn thing sold for only $1.54! Even with the inflated shipping, it sounds like a bargain to me. Wish I'd seen the listing sooner.

LOL! I am gonna make sure the chisel is nice and sharp too! I can live with the gold but the bedazzler treatment has got to go. For 37 bucks I will double my condenser microphone inventory. I was going to buy a pair of the behringer C2 for the acoustic but this and the MXL 992 will do just fine. This was your fault PhilGood.

I want pictures of the removal process. I have been secretly laughing at the seller for a while now. It would be fun to watch the bedazzlers go bye bye.:D

What's really funny is that it took 5 bids to get it up to 1.54. If the guy had saved money on decorating he would have gotten more for the mic.
