AKG SolidTube Microphone

I just purchased an AKG SolidTube Microphone. I never hear anyone talk about this mic. Does anyone have an opinion on it? I won't have time to test it out for a few days and wanted to know if anyone had tried one.

I use it all the time.
It's a good mic !. I know some pro's that swear by it.
A while back there was some problem when they started to heat up and that would cause a hum, and had to be sent back to the factory to be fixed but on a new one I doubt it still exists.

How much did you pay if I may ask?.
 
What do you plan to use it on? I use one for vocals, especially female, and LOVE it. Warm and Phattttt!
 
warm and fat, just like women like it. whoops, this isnt the dragon cave its suppose dot stat 'G' out here..:)
 
I paid $500.00 which included shipping. I was going to use it on vocals. Actually many people think that there is a lead woman vocalist in my recordings. It is actually me. I have a higher vocal range that tends to have a high mid to hi frequency boost. (If that makes any sense)I was interested in a mic that could possibly tone that down. I do my best in using vocal techniques to minimize that problem but after I listen to my recordings hundreds of times, over and over, little things really start to bother me.
 
NO, I bought it used but it was in brand new, perfect condition.
 
just the kind of deal that home recordists need.
