AKG Perception 100?

i know this mike is discontinued but is it any good? if it was sold with the steinberg ci1 both used is it worth 175$ how is the quality of the mic and interface?
and what would be a reasonable price for the two sold together?

You already have a Blue Baby Bottle so I'm assuming you're looking for a second condenser mic.
The Perception 100 was worth about $110 brand new and can be found "Used" for anywhere between $60 to $80.
An excellent, entry level, large diaphragm condenser microphone.
Looks good, (that's more important than you may think) has a full sound but a bit high in the mid range.
As I said, it's "Entry Level" but AKG's Entry Level is a bit better than most.
It's a good choice if you are looking to use it for multi purposes.
Much better than your dynamics but not in quite the same league as the B.L.U.E..

No. The Steinberg was only worth $99 brand new.
I can't judge it because I have never used it but the reviews do put me off.

Absolutely no more than $100. for the both. And that's pushing it!
 
I bought a couple 6 years ago from musicians friend for $100 a piece new back then. They've been good mics, used often. You do have to cut the EQ a little in the upper mid's but it's not a terrible mic. I don't think they've been in production for a few years now.

One day I may have a blow out and sell off a bunch of microphones to make room for some new ones, but I dread the thought of losing just one.

I second pretty much all that's been said above. The Perception 100 is pretty good Chinese mic distributed by a reputable company, as they go, at a fair price. Is it "da bomb"? Probably not, but it's a $100 (or less) mic. The Perception series is a valid attempt by AKG to compete in the entry level studio condenser mic market. When compared to equivalently priced mics by MXL, Nady, Behringer, Samson, etc., they fare pretty well. Here's a brand new, open box factory refurb for $49.00:

alright il see what i can do about the price.
just realised it also comes with a shockmount so how much would it be worth around now?
 
Add about $20 for the shock mount, if it's in good conditioon. Check the elastics on the shock, they die over time.-Richie
 
You can pick up shock mounts in stores now for around $15 and they are interchangeable.
i.e Spring loaded band around the cylinder.
The shockmount adds nothing to the deal really.

OP: Don't go cheap on the interface. Something that sells regularly for $250 like The Fast Track Pro (make sure it says "Pro") can often be found for around $50 to $90 less.

the thing is i live in canada so the shipping is more and the price of things sold here new is more sadly. like the steinberg ci1 is sold for like 100 in canada and thats like the cheapest one i could find.

So you are going to pay HST on anything you buy new in Canada, Right?
1) American prices are significantly less despite the fact that right now the US Dollar is worth less than the Canadian Dollar.
2) Online prices are significantly lower than Canadian store prices.
3) That interface I just showed you sells for around $250 at Long & McQuade and Tom Lee Music. Plus taxes! So that's $250 + $36 = $286... more or less.
4) That interface, buying it from B&H will cost you $163.18 plus $30. 31 (UPS Worldwide Expedited) and because you used their expedited there is no brokerage fee.
So $163. 18 + $30 31 = $193.49
That is a saving of $90.
It's a smoking good deal.
You just have to know how to work the shipping etc..
 
I can't see it in your link but a used Behringer B1 should sell for around $80.
A Eurorack mixer is not what you need.
That's a mixer. Not the right tool for the job.
You need an audio interface.

so u cannot just connect the mixer striahgt to your computer? wait isnt the brand of this studio projects not behringer? and the mixer and b1 are for 100$
