I was recently lent a box of mics from a friend's uncle. These are more or less on permanent loan. Among the long, DAK electrets and Realistic brand capsules were a couple AKG mics: the D230 and two D120E mics.
I was reading about the D230. Said it was an omnidirectional dynamic with an integrated pop filter. Sounds like it would be good for broadcast vocals. But has anyone here used this thing for musical purposes and have advice on what it sounds best on?
I suppose vocals and guitar. Would it do any good on bass drum? I'll be testing it out in a couple of days when I have some time in the studio, but until then...?
