I just pick one of these up from a guy on Craigslist for $15.00 and it works perfectly. I was wondering if any one out there has one of these or has experience with them. I have never really heard of them. If you feel like it...share your experiences with this and tell me what to use it on or how to use it. Thanks!

The D12 was originally a vocal mic but everybody found that they are good for kick and bass, They were superseded by the AKG D112 which had a slight boost in the higher freq to add more click to the kick sound.

I have both models and like the D12 for the old school kick sound.

Not sure what the e stood for, someone may know.

the e stood for xlr input instead of the cable attached to it. so google says

like it for bass amps more than kick...kick i've had it overload a few times. not the tightest pattern so bleed is an issue. cool mic. you could make a huge profit on it as most think they're super cool.

i could take mine or leave mine. as soon as people see it they love it. you know? they have no idea what it sounds like but it's really important we use it? kinda annoying. that's why i never bought a U47. oh yeah and that whole 8 grand thing...

Ah so that's why mine has not got the e, the cable is attached, it has an xlr on the end of a short cable.
