Funny - I have no trouble mounting a D12 or D112 on a stand....... what kind of weird-ass stands you using????

You have to use the mic clip that comes with it.

yeah i can use the mic clip it comes with but it wont screw into my mic stand i have, the stand came from guitar center its a boom stand..im too lazy right now to go out into the studio and look at it right now....any sugestions on mic stands lol?

yeah its a diffrernt size...ummm i dunno i just tape the clip that came with the mic onto the other mic clip thats on the stand and it works okay but i cany adjust the mic enough.

Look at the threading on the D112's mic clip. That may actually be an insert that was screwed in to make it a smaller size. A lot of mic clips come with these inserts to make them usable on different stands. See if that inside will screw out...

i checked i dont see anything ummm im not sure...the tape method seems to be working ok for now.

If the hole in the clip is too small, you have to take the adapter out of the clip. If the hole in the clip is too big, you need to put the adapter back in.

In the bottom of the mic clip is an adapter that allows you to use the clip with European mic stands. It screws out. If you are in Europe, use the adapter. ;)

Whoops, Farview beat me to it. :)

question...kindof going off on a tangeant (sp?)

what room did you record those drums in? the kick sounds as if theres no resonance coming off the shell, or that room is dead or something...im no pro..but.. maybe point the mic up more so toward the shell ? tune the beater head up a bit?

Your kick drum sounds like it was mixed for Lars on the Black Album tour. All click, no boom. Are you using some sort of muffler, like a pillow or blanket? Maybe try laying off the muffling just a wee bit.

well my room im recording in is not built all yet, theirs no dry wall yet..it sucks lol...but yeah i could lighten a little up on the pillows im using on the kick...how does the snare and everything else sound?

Take the pillows out. if you have to put something in it to dampen the head, use something that doesn't fill up the drum. the space inside the drum is important.

Always use König&Meyer Mic stands. German quality. All others suck.
