I'm looking for a vocal mic, at a low price, and there's a pretty good deal on this in several places. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this mic? Cheers :)

Yo Canopus, I have extensive experience with this mic, in fact I own a pair. The C2000B is a mid-sized diaphragm mic (approx. 3/4"), falling neatly between small and large diaphragm dimensions. It is cardioid only, with a 10db pad and a bass rolloff switch. It is simply the most versatile cheap condenser mic I've used. More colored than an AT4033, which is also a mid-sized diaphragm mic, it is useful as a guitar mic, good on toms (better than snare), good on vocals (unlike a C414). It rocks on hand drums- Djembe, Zarb, Doumbek, Congas. It is a little noisy, largely due to it's diaphragm size.
I wouldn't call it real accurate or transparent. It's definitely got some color to it, like an Oktava MC012 or a Rode NTK, but that color is often flattering to vocals, male or female. It was used extensively on my current project as a backing vocal and percussion mic. For $150, it is a real good deal. If you're looking for a real transparent cheap mic, it wouldn't be my first choice, but if you just want something that sounds good on a bunch of stuff, including vocals, it is lovely.
I think a lot of people have never given it a good listen because of C3000B, which costs $300 and basically sucks. Most people figured if the 3000 sucked for $300, the 2000 for $200 must suck more. My experience with these mics indicates they are wrong. Best deal is probably 8th street, $179 with the H100 shock mount, which fits a bunch of mics, and a 20' mic cable. Just my 2
cents.-Richie
