I'm retarded. How do you get this mic to be cardoid pattern? Put the switch up (towards the diaphram) or put the switch down (towards the cable)?

I Believe the switch is On/Off. There are caps for the diaphragm that should have come with it, that change the polar patterns. you'll have to look in the book for which one is which.

That's correct. The switch is on/off. A small "cap" should have came with the mic. You unscrew the top part of the mic off and expose the capsule. The cap just snugs down over the capsule and changed the mic from cardiod to hyper cardiod (narrowing its capture area).

Actually there two adapters:
1. the PPC1000 (larger of the two) changes the pattern to hypercardioid
2. the PB1000 presence boost adapter - (5dB boost between 5kHz and 9kHz for optimum intelligibility of speech) this is a small plastic disc.
Be very careful not to damage the rubber-mounted capsule when installing either of these.
