Hey,

So basically I got the pro fire 610 and stereo set of AKG 415's and when I hook both of them up they work fantastically my only problem is that in order to get audio from the mics I have to turn the gain up a lot (Almost full) I have phantom power on too. I used garage band to record a sample of acoustic guitar and while it did sound great it was really low. Can anyone give me some advice. There are several switches on the mics I haven't touched them. Also the mics were fairly close to me when recording.

Thanks in advance.

The preamps aren't capable of driving your mics. I had the same problem with a Shure SM7B. Wonderful mic but the pres I had couldn't drive it for sh*t. You can buy a separate preamp that can drive your mics and send to your A/D/A as a line level signal. Take your mics to your local audio store and see what they can do for you.

Luck.

Thanks a lot for the reply, and I dont mean to be rude but I kind of didnt understand sorry, are y saying i need to replace my pro fire 610? I dont really have a local audio shop as I do most shopping online. thanks.
