Hi guys,

I've just bought me a new akaixr 20 drum machine... I'm still learning everything about it... But maybe a stupid question, how can u put your made songs/patterns on your pc??
Any other hints / tricks to help me out with the xr20 are also welcome...

You need some kind of interface or sound card on your PC. Even if you ahve a cheap integrated sound card, you can run the outputs of the akai to the line-in on the sound card. I'd HIGHLY recommend using some kind of interface made for recording, standard PC sound cards suck bigtime- they have the best A/D converters you can get for 27¢...

Another alternative is to record the midi. Midi is like sheet-music for computers. You can record the midi, then play it back thru the akai, or any other drum synth like ezdrummer. It's easy to copy/paste and edit midi, you can make adjustments on your PC and play it back thru the akai. A little more complicated, but it can be real fast and ez.
