Akai X-355

I asked a similar question in the "other equipment" section but thought I might get some more input on this particular piece of equipment in here. Can anyone tell me anything about this or have experience with this reel to reel? I have a chance to snag one.

I dont know much about this particular Akai model but it would date from the early/mid 60's and as such might need some work to get it going well. Good point for it is the apparent solenoid control. Bad point is the possible germanium transistors which tended to be noisy and which were changed to silicon in later models. If you wanted to use it in production a later model Akai might be more suitable.
