Akai MDP16

Has anybody out there used the Akai MPD16 yet? I was thinking about getting one and using it to control the sounds on my EPS 16+ instead of using the keyboard. Will this work just through a midi connection? If anyone has used it, how do ya like it?

Yes, it will work. It's phat if you want pads to bang shit out.
Be aware that you must buy a power supply, as it will run powered via usb, not midi, and doesn't come with a wall wart for juice. I've got the radio shack part number for the adapter somewhere around here. I'll dig it up if you're interested.

Great, I'm glad to hear it will work!! Yeah, I am just more comfortable puttin' beats out on a pad vs playing the keys which I still love using for layin' down bass lines and such. If you could find that info somewhere, it would be greatly appreciated!!
