This is my buddy's vocals, he entered into a vocal competition in his state.

What do you think he should improve on? I realized he was running out of breath towards the end, so he can work on his endurance for the most part. What other things can he work on?

I think he's got a beautiful voice, but it needs some work. So, I'm willing to give him advice, but before I do, I want a second opinion, so here I am.

Let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Yeps, pretty voice, suitable for something easy-going like R'n'b or so... :cool:

I'm no singer.
But I'd think he needs more lungs, not just for the endurance but to gain some power to that voice. It kinda sounds as he'd be talking very gently, almost whispering. SINGING asks lungs. You got to get your voice heard!!
(duh!.. amplification is invented. -->wrong.)

It's a whole different beast. Is it the man resonating, or the transistors of the amp. Same thing in stringed instruments, the difference of mildly fingered and amplified versus the pick-hammered thing where the strings MOVE and and make the wood resonate!! :D

..but if R'n'bee is what you're aiming at... That'd include the strings fingered like a sore vagina...That soft, pretty, petting voice should fit right in there..

Well, I think I'm going to use him for some vocals on some of my chorus's. I'm into the Hip Hop era (Well I'm trying to be) but RnB is good as well, because it still remains music from the soul. I'll have to throw him down on a track before I figure out what's good and what's not.

Thanks for the advice, though. :)

:D

he's also a little pitchy at times... but a good basic voice... he'ld benefit from a few lessons particularly on breathing... he's got NO support... unfortunately that's a hard one to learn over the net....
