Thanks for the suggestion on the Yamaha P80. I went to some local pawn shops today, and only found one good keyboard, and it was the P80. It sounded and felt authentic; the keys felt like they took a lot to press, though. Kind of "spongy" maybe?
Anyway, there are some scratches on the board, and stuff on the keys, so they only wanted $679 for it...I'm pretty tempted, even if it's not a perfect feel, it blows this CASIO out of the water! :)

Interesting. I find the action to be very good. Perhaps its previous owner didn't treat it so well, and the action of the weighted keys has suffered?

Or perhaps you're used to playing the non-weighted keys of the Casio, and so the weighted action felt a bit heavy?

I find the action on my P-80 to be very comparable to that of the grand pianos I've played on.

Moley - I think you're right about that keyboard. I just got back from my Uncle's house and he has a nice Yamaha...the keys did not feel the same. His were easier to press, and didn't take as much energy for the fast parts of a piece. So, long story short, I don't think I'll get that board.

I'm looking at the Studiologic controllers now w/ the FATAR keys. They look really nice; I might seriously go that route, and use Steinway and Bosendorfer soundfonts through the computer.

I've played one StudioLogic controller keyboard (I don't know which model it was, *supposedly* good one, I think).

I hated it! I really didn't like the action, it made it so difficult to play quietly.

But, don't judge StudioLogic keyboards by my one experience :) That one I played may have been treated badly too. I say try before you buy - and if you like the action, go for it!
