Advice on selecting right home recording items

I would like to venture into the world of home recording and would welcome advice on the equipment that I have had recommended.
I would like to record vocals, acoustic guitar, and fiddle (All through the microphone at present).
I have a Dual Core 2.33GHz PC, 2Gb Ram, 64bit Windows 8 machine.

Recommended items to me are:
AKG C1000S Condenser Microphone
Roland Duo-Capture EX USB Audio Interface
Reaper Recording Software

Are there any better options on this equipment/software, or is this ok ..... on a limited budget.

There are many options for microphones and audio interfaces, depending on your budget. Note that with only 2G RAm, you may experience slow processing if you add much for VSTs or do many tracks when recording. Consider adding some chips to get yourself up to 4G.
