Hi all -
This forum is such a help to me - thanks to everyone who keep responding! I'm about to purchase some entry-level equipment - I've pretty much decided to get a Boss BR-600 (my needs are relatively simple - record live grand piano/vocals and add virtual instruments) and a good mic.
I think I'm just getting confused on how to add in the virtual instruments (mainly things like strings - orchestral type music). I have a Yamaha Clavinova that I use as a midi source for my Finale software and Cubase LE (audio Kontrol USB interface). Is the idea that I would record strings and such through that onto the 8-track digi recorder?
Or do I record live stuff into the 8-track digi, then import it into something like Logic and go from there? Not sure why I'm so confused, but I am!
If I don't need something like Logic, do I just buy some VSTs? Are they available free from a sequencer program?
Thanks for any help!
