Advice on computer to buy w/ Mbox2

I want to get the M-box. I know need to get a new computer as I'm running an ancient Mac right now that won't support the latest version of Pro Tools. Anyone have any imput?

Here are some details on what I need, What I want to do, and what I want to spend.

-I really want to use this in a relatively minimal way recording wise. I'm not planning on recording drums or a full band. Mostly I want to record my guitar and vocals for new song ideas.

-I have access to a larger studio that runs pro tools. I do want the ability to download tracks from that studio and edit / manipulate them on my machine.

- I'd love to get something for under $1500

-I'd prefer a desktop machine

Any good advice out there?

Are you wanting to stick with mac or go with a windows PC?

For under 1500 bucks you can build a damn nice windows pc, check www.newegg.com for parts information.

I wanted to stick with Mac.

Get you a Mac Mini and upgrade to 1 gig of ram.

I've heard good things, personally do not know though.
