I should be attempting to record me and my guitar player this weekend. I have an ADK Hamburg MK8, Shure SM58, Mackie Onyx 400F, Logic Pro 8, and my macbook pro. We will be recording bass, acoustic guitar, vocals, and harmonica on at least one track. I think im going to recording the acoustic guitar in mono with the ADK at the 12th fret. Il be using the ADK on vocals as well and il probably be going direct in on the bass although i might end up micing it. All the instruments are gonna be recorded separately to a click track.

I am a very new to recording so any advice you can give me about room acoustics or other recording techniques would be wonderful. Should i do some instruments in a big room and some in a smaller room? Anything i should really avoid doing? Any advice at all is welcome.

Sorry, this reply probably comes too late for you, but your questions were much too vague for any definite answers - every room has its own acoustic qualities and there are an infinte number of possibliteis to mic placement, instrument sound, etc.
