Adobe Soundbooth

Ok, I'm completely new at any recording period, all I've done is mess around at home a little bit. I have Adobe Soundbooth on my computer and was just wondering if anyone had a good link or tips to get started with it, or, if its not a good program to use, what a good one to get is. (I hardly have any cash, so keep that in mind when recommending software.)

Reaper is free to try and use. Do you have an audio interface? Mic? What are you trying to record?

Ha, um, I have a mic/recording thing (I don't know the specs, I'll have to look for them), but I don't really know what you mean by interface. lol, and I'm using it to record all sorts of things, drums, guitar, and vocals.
