Anyone have any ideas when the next update to Audition will be? I think it's approaching 1 year since 1.5, so I'm sure it'll still be some time. Curious what options/changes everyone's hoping for. I'd like to see ASIO support, and a MIDI sequencer built in - I can vision it as a third tab beside the Multitrack and Edit view tabs. Within that tab, you could have multiple instances available to route to whatever track you like, etc. Those are my wishes. I beleive if those and a few other additions are made, AA will be tough to beat. Let's hear some other ideas. :D

ASIO, of course, and I'd like automated fader support for control surfaces, even though I don't have such a beast and I'd have to run out and buy one. This would incorporate the capability of "drawing" volume/pan envelopes with your faders, motorized or not.

Two mono buttons. (In case the first one don't work...)

Two mono buttons.

No, no, no: if you have 2 of them you have stereo mono buttons.

I agree I want better support for plug ins, ASIO, Midi sync, and mono button. A GUI color\texture upgrade would be nice, no functional changes to the gui though.....

AA needs..

ASIO driver support

Much lower latency to the "feel" of the controls, I personally can't stand waiting for a second or more to hear the effects of tweaking a damn EQ.

Low latency input monitoring, thru the software and effects.

At least 4 or 6 "real" aux send/return busses, what they have now is pathetic.

Direct to File/Folder writing as recording, if you record 12 to 16 tracks at once for 15 or 20 minutes, all those files are recorded to a temp folder, when you go to save them, it takes AGES for CEP/AA to then re-write each file to the correct folder, in just about any other program, after recording, you hit save and BAM! it's saved, and you're moving on to the next take in a matter of seconds.

While I still have my trusty old CEP 2.1 installed and do use it for certain things, it's shortcomings have caused me to give up on it for serious multitrack recording/mixing work, there are just too many other programs out there that do a much better job in the above mentioned areas, unfortunately, I think that the internal design of CEP/AA is such that some of these functions cannot be done without pretty much re-writing the entire program from scratch, I think this is mostly because of it's original development as a destructive editing platform that evolved into a multitrack application, even it's built in effects were not originally designed for low latency "real-time" use, they used to be called "transforms" and could only be used as off line processes, I highly doubt Adobe will go that deep into a product re-design.
