Wow...first off I am going to say, it is neat to hear what you did on top of this "library" music....
But...
Finger slashed....oh well, I can whip out a Mixmker tune!!
I think that puts it all into perspective!!
Proceeding on...
I like the ideas that you wanted to do...VERY much so, but I think there are some major problems (not mentioning how the opening synth sound, sounded after being converted to MP3 back and forth a couple times...

But, not that they were "that" pristine to begin with!! Hiss...ha!!! I love it!! My roland IS noticeably hissy...ha!!
After listening to your vocals on top of this, it hit me like a truck, that your style of singing and vocal sound would be a great match to this music.
But... Since I know the tempo was OFF when I recorded it (even though it is a rubato feel.... [I felt I rushed it]), I felt the timing felt even more ackward with your vocals on top of it, much more so...and you seem to 'run out of space' when I get off my ONE note 40 second intro....just by a smidgen...but could be easily corrected by nudging the vocals forward a tad in a DAW.
Also, the tuning seems off, like you and I are off a 1/4 step off or so...at the harmony parts. Kinda the same effect you hear on those "American Idol" shows where you know the singer is good, but WHOA!! ....they are out of tune, ... and you just chalk it up to a bad monitor mix, or something of that nature that doesn't let them hear things right. I noticed that right off the bat, and I think that is my biggest 'complaint.' I realize the unothordox harmonies in there, and I think they ARE some ones that work well, but the "gel factor" wasn't there. Also...maybe a little loud too. Not for the "tv mix"...but for "
windsong music"...yeah...a little loud.
I liked the "Indian vibe" that I got out of it, and felt a 'wordless' approach is completely appropriate.
I feel like a real smuck telling you these faults, as I am more than impressed that you took the time and did some really neat stuff to it.
I'm gonna chalk up the amputated finger to some of the sloppyness on the leads, but the idea you had definately was there.
All in all...I think if you and I worked on this together and recorded it at the same time (as ONE project..in the SAME studio...working TOGETHER), I would have been IMMENSELY pleased. Almost to the extent that I would do more of this stuff and pay you to add vocals to them...(but fear the same problems might crop up again...to no fault of your own).
However... I wish you could see my smile. Thanks for the treat!!
(now if sammij would get off his butt!!

) <---- j/king!!
