Hello forum,

The other day I tried to load a 16 bit soundblaster card to my computer and I found out that there is no slot for a 16 bit card.
I was wondering if I really do have a piece of, or can I manually add it to my mainboard. May sound like a stupid question, but with computers you never know.

Thanks!

Are you out of slots entirely? Or do you have an ISA card and only PCI slots available?

Well I guess I would have to say the latter, because the sound card that came with my system is integrated with the mainboard.
I do have PCI slots, but a non 16 bit slot.
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for replying

Im assuming you dont like your "on board" audio. You can disable it and put a regular "sound card" in. Of course if you dont have an isa or shared slot you will have to
buy a pci soundcard. Check your motherboard documentation on
how to disable the on board audio and the type of slots you have.
