Hello,
I recently picked up an Alesis ADAT XT intending to use it for some home recording. I knew the machine worked when purchased. I tried formatting two new S-VHS tapes and get the same issue after formatting is complete. Error 7 (dirty heads) and "no good timecode". I cleaned the heads carefully but the issue is still there.
Head hours = 420
The tapes I bought are from HHB and are labeled as 45 minutes which seems odd and is not one of the tape length choices in the XT's software.
I know this machine is ancient, but so am I and it was inexpensive to purchase.
Any thoughts from users experienced in the ancient art of ADAT technology?
Regards......
