ADAT leader tape

I noticed that each time I rewind ADAT tapes and look through the plastic window, the leader tape is in a different position, indicating that either the rewind function varies or the leader tape is getting stretched.

Is this a concern? The tape isn't going to one day snap off the spindle, will it?

In three years of using ADATs, I only had 1 tape snap like that....... make sure you do backups and you'll be fine.......!
