I am thinking of connecting a pair of monitors to my computer. I have a Delta soundcard with 4 I/O plugs. Is the best thing to just connect the 2 monitors to the 2 outputs of the soundcard?

-Also, what kind of input device goes into the monitors? I have 1'4" jacks coming out of the soundcard outs/do I need any kind of adapter?

Thanks,
D.

Depends on what kind of plugs your monitor has....

also as far as going straight from the soundcard to the monitor, some put a mixer in between so they have easy access to level adjustments...but its ok to go straight to the monitor......

But there is not going to be any kind of monitor that won't hook-up with this set-up though right?

microchip,
i have a mixer in between the computer and the monitors..i like it this way exactly for what Gidge said its used for. Adjusting levels quickly without going though the computer is a nice treat. BUt of course some will prefer just keeping it all in the computer. just to reinforce what Gidge said, most likely every monitor will work with the way you want to set it up. Most monitors will have 1/4 inch inputs on the back so 2 , 1/4" cables are all you need your Delta to the monitors.

hope this will help you
