Greetings........
I have been an acoustician for over 26 years, designing and constructing "state of the art" studio facilities and other media venues as well as architectural acoustics world wide. This science and its application are often either missunderstood or ignored for various reasons...(mostly $ ) and folks like some of you here, suffer in the end dealing with very poor acoustics...which in the end will result in a very poor product. I could write a book regarding the same..
SO......! here is my offer.....I will provide acoustical consullation to any and all who request it.....(within reason) and with no strings or charges....
Providing your facility is for personal use...Following the advice will free the artist to do art rather than messing about with room anomilies and poor acoustics that just corrupt the mix in the end.
If you would like to veiw a facility we just completed ..please go to
www.salmonpeak.com

Best regards,

Acoustech

Would that be advice strictly concerning designing/building studio, or acoustic treatment to a "finished" product? Specifically, can/will you advise about treating a room with crappy acoustics?

Acoustech,

That's a beautiful facility......... very nice design and workmanship.

So are you Jack Piercy? ....... the acoustician refered to by the studio?

If so - then welcome, you will find a world full of people here looking to construct home studios - wide open to advide from the "pro's". The vast majority of them are a decent bunch.

It's always nice to find people willing to share their knowledge.

Sincerely,

Rod

I've heard of you guys before!
Aren't you in San Antonio?

i love that studio....i damn near spit my water out all over my computer at work. I just moved out of a small bedroom into a larger house and i got hit with a new experience with the sound reflections off the walls. i didnt pay much attention to acoustics much before because i had so much stuff in my old room it was a good sound dampener (try telling my neighbors that).
