Sounds like some bass was added with EQ, or maybe it was already there? Nice, full sound to the guitar.

I recorded it with my SM57. I did boost lows/mids a touch

Sounds pretty good here too. I used to use a SM57 too. I always got decent results from it til I moved on to something else.

Nice playing. Sounds like you were using a thin pick in the recording. Many people don't seem to like the sound of the pick so clearly, but I think it depends on the piece. Distracting or not, sounding good.

I noticed that the pick is very audible in the recording--I think it adds to the flavor I was able to remove it with some EQ and a software multiband compressor. I ended up leaving it in, obviously, because I think it sounds better. Once I add the vocals, though, I may end up removing it or re-recording it with a heavier pick.
