Just wanted to show this auction I found on ebay...

703 fiberglass panels

Maybe this will help show nOObs (like me) what "rigid fiberglass" panels can look like.

Those appear to be really well made; two things I'd do differently though - those aren't solid fiberglass but two 1" panels separated by air, and they have solid backs on them. This is fine if you don't need to get better LF absorption by spacing the panels away from the wall, but they won't work any better spaced away from the wall than against it, due to their solid back.

All in all though, pretty reasonable for what you get; maybe later they will offer an open-backed design as well... Steve

Wow... Cheaper than Ethans with 2 sheets of 703 each

I wonder if John Scrip is aware that his Massive Mastering console is featured on this website?

Then they'd have something that can actually absorb some bass. :D

Sure, but ask them for their absorption specs.

Rolling your eyes will gets the X-box taken away in my house :)

I'd be interested to see how the solid back responds myself, since it's placed closer to the wall and isn't a sealed box aka Panel Absorber vs Bass Trap analysis. Aside from the specs I have to wonder about alot of things considering I know what it costs to make these buggers and that the margin must be awfully tight. You still can't beat DIY though....
