I need some help with recording acoustic guitar. I recorded this 15 second clip in my garage(it's the best I can do) with a Groove Tubes (GT-55) condensor mic placed a foot away and pointing at the spot where the neck meets the body. The mic then runs through my audio buddy pre-amp before being recorded on my Fostex MR-8. I know my equipment isn't that good but is there anything I can do to improve the sound. I have audacity on my computer and I was playing around with compression and some other things but I wasn't having any success in improving the sound. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

Here's the link to the soundclip :

Welcome aboard!

I am listening through headphones. It really sounds pretty good, all told.

You can try recording in various places besides your garage, or if thats not possible try different spots in the garage. If you're getting uneven bass response, try playing more softly on the strings that are giving you the problems. Try playing with a reflective surface underneath you and the guitar.

Next maybe some light eq, but I'd exhaust all other possibilities before resorting to that.

Sounds okay to me through desktop speakers...

The bass seems a little 'boomy', maybe try pointing the mic a little more towards the neck of the guitar, and away from the soundhole?
