acoustic guitar preamp for live sound

I have a Martin Thin Line Gold Plus (active) pickup (a ribbon tranducer under the saddle pickup). I don't need a preamp as such since it's built in, and I usually use an amp or PA that has at least some eq and effects. So it (Martin classical) sounds pretty good already.

But I'd like to get me a little box that makes it sound better, if I can. I was reading about the Roland Boss AD5 (about 300 bucks), which supposedly enhances the sound, giving it a more natural quality (and also has eq bands and effects). Can anyone recommend the Boss AD5 or recommend an alternative?

You could check out the Sansamp acoustic DI, it's designed to make a plugged in acoustic sound warmer and more natural (as if it was miced).

I haven't tried one but I do like the other Sansamp products.

Thanks for the suggestion. They seem to make this for direct in computer recording. Would you think it would be effective for use with a PA system?

It should work fine, I know some people use the bass and even the electric guitar versions live.

Of course you should try before you buy if possible.
