Hey guys, first of all, this is a great forum, tons of information and cool people! Now to my question:

I play an Ovation Acoustic Electric. The way I have it set up for rehersal is the following:

Ovation Acoustic Electric ->
On board Ovation Preamp->
Yamaha AG Stomp->
Boss OC-2 Octave Pedal->
Line6 DL-4 Delay/Loop Sampler->
Alesis Studio 24 Mixer->
SWR Strawberry Blonde

Now the question is, I have Level and EQ on the preamp, the AG stomp, the mixer and the amp....

How should I adjust everything!?!?!?! What piece of equipment should I use to really dial in on my sound and volume??? Or should I use all of them, or just one, and leave everything else flat!?!?!?!? Im confused, please help!!!

It really depends on what you're trying to adjust. For example, live... I cut the bass on my onboard eq because should I need to add it, I can do it instantly without reaching for a stomp box knob or a mixer knob. Also, the bass cut on my onboard eq cuts the freq. I prefer to cut, whereas my active DI cuts too wide. However, my DI has sweepable mids, so I adjust for mids on on the DI instead of the guitar onboard eq or at the board. I prefer not to make eq adjustments at the board unless it's something specific in a live situation.

Thats another good question... What exactly should I be doing with a mid sweep?? The AG stomp has it, but i havent messed with it

The mid sweep is great for hunting down and killing feedback frequencies. Also, mids are where most of the fine tweaking takes place in a mix when dealing with guitars. I also use my mid sweep to tame that nasty piezo "quack". My DI is the Sansamp Acoustic DI, which has some tube mic emulation which really helps with piezos.
