acoustic bass

hey guys,

i'm working in germanny at the moment, and i'm thinking of getting myself an acoustic bass guitar. -- they'r a lot cheaper here than in the UK.

My point is, i'll be travelling home near xmas by plane, with the guitar....

do i need to do anything like loosen the strings to make up for the change in air pressure?

if it were me...i would......and maybe get a humidifier....if your checking it (which i assume you'll have to since the airlines are so strict now)..

baggage compartments are unheated and unpressurized and this is not good for a nice piece of thin wood under tension.At the very least,remove or relax the strings.I have travelled classical guitars this way by plane.
