Geez....He's already up to version 1.05! I upgraded twice to get to 1.03 just a couple of days ago.... Bruce Enissen (sp?) doing a great job with it, though.

Yeah, I know... but it's not a hard program to update. ;)

I recommend to buy a MIDI-controller such as this. It makes it sooo easy to mix! :)

Long live "Cakewalk Generic Control Surface"! :D

What's with your caps-lock, James? :p

And normalizing is a no-no!

:D :D :D :D :D

:) Hey, I'm up for that. Where did we leave off?
It's usually unnecessary, probably doesn't hurt if you do...
What was the question again?:D :D

...off course it's no-no-no. Just having fun seeing you guys debate over it. :p Any tips again gentelmen ?

Never 'bounce to clips' if you use 'groups' on the controls.

Save often. And in triplicate.
:D

You could obviously do this in any prog...
After bouncing test mixes to a new track in ACKUS, insert a Multiband comp either on the track or the v-main to check out how the mix reacts to this treatment.
Quick, convenient comparison and experimentation right in the project.

Mostly I'm just having a blast with what this nice Ultrafunk M/B can do with a little low-ratio compression and shaping to bring out the inner brightness in mixes.
Big smiles!:D :D

I do this all the time... why shouldn't I?

That's interesting. When I used it all my grouped track faders jumped to zero, completly trashing the mix, and, 'undo' would not restore it. Closing the project w/o saving was the only wat to get back. When I posted about this at the news group, it was said it was a long known problem and wasn't being fixed.
I'm in ACKUS 2.0.

I mostly/only use the "Bounce to Clips"-thingie when I'm working with Midi-Tracks. Could that be it?

so Ultrafunk v3 has a multiband compressor.

do you have waves? can you do a comparison?

i have ultrafunk v2 and i like the compressor and EQ. the autowah is pretty OK too!

Sonar Power previews!

Here's a preview of the Sonar 1 and 2 Power books! Read, learn and buy the books! :)

Does anyone else here use their Cakewalk version of choice as a MIDI loop recorder? I figured this out, but it might be old news. You set up a track, maybe a bass track, set the now time at 1, set the thru time at 1:2, open piano roll, enable loop play, and start sticking notes in there while it plays back. You can hear your changes in real time. When you're satisfied with your creation, set the thru time to 1:4 and keep going. When you're done, click off the piano roll view and you have one measure of bass guitar without ever touching the 'record' button. Works great on drum tracks, too. I'm no guru, but I think this is a good thing, and it might even be in the manual, so if it is, don't kick the crap out of me!! This works in Sonar as well as some 'older' versions as well!!! C-ya
