Linux Man...
I am new to Acid, but not to homerecording. Anyway, I was wondering if it possible to triger one shot sounds via midi. I think that would be much easier than trying to 'draw' each sound in at the proper time. If that can be done easily, please let me know.
Also, what are the differences between Acid 2.0 pro and 3.0 pro?

Acid 2.0 vs Acid 3.0

I don't think there is a way to trigger via midi the crash samples in Acid unless you want to record a midi event and use the samples in your soundcard or external sound module.

The main difference between version 2.0 and 3.0 is version 3 has a Beatmapper (useful for doing remixes) and the chopper tool. With the chopper tool, you'll be able to cut the samples in whatever duration you want and paste it in the Acid track. It's very useful for leads, bass, drums, sax solos, etc.

The beatmapper locates the beat to a certain wave file and you'll then be able to add acid samples and paint as you go.

Other than the tools above, the 2 versions are almost identical.

Cheers
