I just downloaded Acid Xpress which is a free version of ACID pro. It contains remarkably less features than ACID pro but happens to be all I need. I'm just trying to find a program that will help me sync up the drum loops that I already have easily. I don't need it to have effects, panning, midi or audio recording and all that stuff. However, the one thing that ACID express doesnt give me is the ability to save my project as a sound file unlimited times. You can only save the loop you made 20 times and then youre done. Does anyone know of any software exactly like ACID Xpress but where I can save my loops as a sound file unlimited times that is free or costs under $30?

You just missed it.

Until last month when Sony snapped up Sonic Foundry, you could still get ACID Music 2.0 for $5-$10 from the major music retailers.

Look around if you've got a local music or computer store (Best Buy, etc.) and see if you can still find it on the shelves somewhere... They put out several different versions (Techno, Dance, etc.) with the same software but different beats in the box.

I've been using it for years to tweak drum tracks; it's a great little tool to have around.

Just realized

I just realized now that acid is only for windows. I need to use a program with my mac OS X system. Is there anything like that?

You might find something for OSX on the audio section of versiontracker.com. If not, you have some standard options like Apple's new Soundtrack software or Abelton Live. Unfortunately, both will cost you ($199-$299). But they do come with fairly extensive loop collections.
