Acid 4 with VSTi?

Acid 4 is supposed to support VSTi. Now, a question, does VSTi mean instrument, like a sofware sampler or synth, or does it mean plugin? I ask this because I wanted to know if I could use the VST sampler Halion with Acid4....

Instrument, like HALion, Kontakt, Battery, etc. Check compatibility on their website first though.

Both! VSTi's are instrument plugins - as opposed to signal processor plugins.
