Has anyone ever noticed on the Back in black ACDC album, how driving the bass drum sounds? when I did an analysis on the freq, I noticed that everyhting is very solid. Meaning, the bass durm is all around 88-110hz and the snare is all around 200-400hz or something like that. I wanted a sound like that, and when I look at my mixes, the freqs for the bass drum are all over the spectrum. So, will EQing it to the 'acdc' style help me get that sound? thanks. Dave

Yeh it couldn't hurt, would be a good starting point.

Did you know that the Australian version of the Oxford English dictionary defines 'solid' as 'ACDC'

are you sure the freq are EXCLUSIVELY around those values? a bass drum that's located only at 88-110hz wouldn't come out in the mix, you would have to turn the volume up so high it would leave no room for the other tracks.

Thoes were examples, you know what I mean. My point was, they're centered around a certain freq. I think it was more like 60-90

ok ok but still i don't think a simple eq job will do it

those drums were played by a butcher :) recorded in a certain room with certain mikes tracked on an ANALOGUE deck by a skilled technician molded by an awesome producer .............

have you concidered simply SAMPLING them? (i won't tell anyone)
