Acceptable Glass?

I found a coule of ads on some local websites where people are selling glass top dining tables for cheap. I mean real cheap!! The glass in some cases is 1/2 inch thick. The dimensions I've seen are nice and large at 48" x 60", and 48" x 72". Is this okay to use for a control room window? Do you think it's appropriate to use in that application?

well glass is glass and if you can get it cheap go for it :)

Glass is glass - however you might want to make sure its safety glass, just in case someone slips and hits their elbow on the control room window, they don't cut themselves badly.

just do a search on "glass top". I'm not sure if there's a craig's list for your area but it's worth a try. I've seen the tops for $50-$199. The cool thing is that that price even included the chairs. A couple of extra chairs in the studio is always good.

i would recomend safety glass. dont skimp on this! the last thing you need is a lawsuit cause some angry metal head decides to throw his fist through the control room window after he just pooches the 53rd guitar take!
