About the Studio Project C1 mic

Yeah indeed, more options is always better. But I find the price of the C3 a lil' too high for my budget... I'm heading more toward a pair of C1 instead of only 1 C3.

There are alot of articles about stereo recording and it looks great so I really wanna be able to do that. (at least try it)...

There's another little thing I'd like to know... I know I will need pre-amp for my pair of C1 so I'll go with the DMP3 which is a dual pre-amp. But for my 5 or 6 mics drum kit, do I have to buy 3 more DMP3 ?? :\ There must be another way to do it.... plz?

Well....

The best way I can think of...and it works quite well, is to get a small Mackie mixer like the 1402 and use just the pres. I don't know what you are recording to.....PC? 4track? Digital 16 track?

You'll have to elaborate some but the small Mackie boards are the best bang for the buck, pre-wise, in my opinion. I'm not sure you'll find more preamp for less dough anywhere and get it used!

Hm... I know it has 8 inputs... but I don't know about XLR, TRS, Unbalanced.... I wish someone would tell me what it means and whats the purpose of having different inputs...

thought everything was on 1/4" connections... like the one I got on my bass.

I don't own anything for now, I'm just planning on buying the M-Audio card... I don't have it here to check out all the stuff...

Or you can have a Delta 1010lt that has 2 xlr and 6 rca (the 2 xlr have a preamp, though not very good, I suppose)

8 ins is good. What type doesnt really matter especially if the pres are outboard.....balanced is nice. If they are XLR or TRS you are balanced usually.

This would would work well and I stick with my recommendation on getting the Mackie 1402. This would give you 6 additional pres, giving you 8 total with the DMP3. You would esentially plug your mics into the mackie pres, get your levels, use the "insert" to go out of the Mackie pres, plugging the other end of the cable into your Delta input. Repeat this as many times as necessary.

I still believe this is the best way to acquire a bunch of pres for the dough. Your mileage may vary.
